FSPD 2023 Technology and Improvements

The City of Fort Smith, Arkansas is home to approximately 90,000 people and an economic hub for our region. Sebastian County, of which Fort Smith is one of two county seats, has a population of roughly 128,000. The region is economically depressed and is struggling to recover from the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Fort Smith Police Department and the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office rely heavily upon the JAG Grant to purchase needed equipment that would not be possible through budgetary funds.  These agencies will utilize funding from this grant to purchase equipment that will contribute to the safety of our law enforcement officers, enhance working conditions, and provide law enforcement services to the citizens of our jurisdiction.
