Peoria Police Department Equipment & Training: Purchasing ballistic helmets & gas masks and sending one command staff employee to acquire Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) training.

The City of Peoria will utilize the FY 23 JAG local funds to purchase ballistic helmets and air purifying respirators (gas masks) to enable the Peoria Police Department to remain diligent in providing up-to-date equipment for officers, thus enabling them to protect communities and infrastructure. In addition, JAG funds will be used to train a newly promoted command level staff member in the Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP) program of the Police Executive Research Forum that provides senior police executives with intensive training in the latest management concepts and practices used in business and government.
