Reduction of crimes and gang violence in the City of La Puente

The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program is the primary provider of federal criminal justice funding to states and units of local government. Through this opportunity, the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) will award JAG Program funds to eligible units of local government as described in this FY 2023 JAG Program Local Solicitation.

The City of La Puente will utilize FY 2023 JAG funds for overtime costs of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Special Assignment Officer (SAO) team assigned to patrol the City of La Puente. The SAO team will address special problems such as public nuisances, known narcotic areas, assaults, robberies, homicides, property crimes, and intellectual property crimes in the City.
