Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $19,382)
The City of Clovis will use Justice Assistance Grant funding to implement an effective and innovative Digital Evidence Data Storage System to enhance our capacity to securely store, manage, and utilize valuable digital evidence. This new system will improve data retrieval efficiency, leading to better decision making, better-quality data security and compliance with data protection regulations, and most importantly, our capacity to handle future digital evidence growth. The Clovis Police Department is facing a critical need to implement a Digital Evidence Data Storage System to manage and preserve critical evidentiary data effectively. Unfortunately, this agency cannot acquire this system through our existing resources due to budget constraints and obligated budgetary funding. The Clovis Police Department requests funding through BJA to purchase, install, and maintain a digital evidence data storage system. This project is vital to enchanting our agency's intake, storage, investigative capabilities, streamlined operations, and compliance and legal requirement surrounding evidence management.
