County of Santa Cruz FY 23 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant

The County of Santa Cruz will utilize JAG grant funds to implement the Tactical Equipment Enhancement and Upgrade Project (TEE-UP) to strengthen SWAT Team and Bomb Unit response tactics to reduce crime and violence, protect the safety of the public, and safety of tactical team members. Specifically, the Sheriff-Coroner’s Office will use JAG funds to replace the SWAT Team’s ear communication system and acquire a mechanic breaching tool.  The Bomb Squad Unit will acquire x-ray generation devices to detect potential improvised explosive devices and other threats.
