FY23 JAG Project

The City of Oxnard shall serve as the lead agency for the following: County of Ventura; cities of: Oxnard and San Buenaventura.  The agencies share the goal of addressing crime and promoting trust in the community.  This grant funding will purchase the following: virtual reality equipment to assist officers with critical incident training; communications center remodel to improve the dispatch work area; ballistic shields to help officers in high-risk tactical situations; de-escalation equipment/training materials to assist officers decrease the intensity of stressful situations; and specialized training for street enforcement unit in areas such as drug crimes, human trafficking, criminal street gangs, and outlaw motorcycle gangs.
