BJA FY 23 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program - Local Solicitation-Juvenile Court Services Division - Violent Offenders Unit

Sacramento County Probation Department (Probation) proposes to utilize its Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) to continue funding officer(s) in the Violent Offender Unit (VOU) within Probation’s Juvenile Court Services Division. The VOU was created in FY 2001 utilizing JAG-related funding, and is staffed with Deputy Probation Officers responsible for the investigation, processing and oversight of specialized caseloads involving extremely violent offenses (e.g. homicide, rape, robbery and aggravated assault). The officers assigned to the VOU are some of the more experienced officers within the Juvenile Court Services Division.
