Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $746,889)

The Sheriff of Alameda County joined with all the Police Chiefs of every Alameda County city and the District Attorney of Alameda County in a decision to allocate the FY2023 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Local appropriation and to designate the choice of a lead agency. The unanimous decision was made for the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office to once again be the lead designated agency to apply for the JAG Program grants on behalf of the nine qualifying Alameda County cities and the County of Alameda. The Sheriff’s Office grant application will allow all eligible members to receive their federally recommended share of the FY2023 JAG Local award.
