Enhancing Crime and Violence Reduction Strategies for CSPD

The disparate jurisdictions of Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) and El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) seek FY23 JAG funding for strategic implementation of law enforcement support personnel and technology. CSPD will use these funds to focus on investigating crime with the continued funding of three support personnel. Two business support specialists and one civilian crime investigator will free investigators from administrative tasks and other casework to timely pursue leads to solve crimes. EPSO will use these funds to enhance its wireless internet connectivity by purchasing specialized routers to be placed in their patrol vehicles, enhancing their body-worn camera program.
