In-car Cameras

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) plans to use JAG funds to purchase and install approximately seven (7) in-car cameras with video manager licenses, wireless microphones, and cable kits which will be installed in pro-active patrol vehicles. HCSO conducted approximately 23,609 traffic stops between January 2023 and August 2023. These vehicles are utilized in routine community patrols, traffic stops, and sometimes high risk situations. The recorded video will provide the necessary evidentiary documentation for prosecution and will be able to serve as an unbiased witness to the events that take place during each traffic stop.
