Crime and Violence Reduction Strategies Project

The City of Tifton witnessed a concerning rise in street fights, drive-by shootings, and violent crimes primarily driven by gang-related activities. These incidents not only pose a significant threat to public safety but also erode the quality of life for city residents. To address this issue, the city police department plans to establish a gang and violent crime task force and utilize FY 2023 JAG funding to support the program activities.
