Increasing the forensic fingerprint analysis capability of the Brookhaven Police Crime Scene Investigations Unit

Currently, The Brookhaven Police Crime Scene Investigations Unit (BPD CSU) is limited in local sources for fingerprint comparison. The Brookhaven Police Department is looking to increase its forensic identification capability by adding resources for fingerprint identification. The addition of an Automated Fingerprint Identification System will enhance the BPD CSU in the timely identification of collected fingerprints by being able to compare collected prints against state and national fingerprint databases without having to submit prints to the state crime lab for analysis and comparison.
