The Clayton County Police Department requests JAG funding for a patrol traffic response vehicle. It will be operated in the ordinary daily course for routine patrol.
On 07-01-23, GDOT HERO suspended overnight shift hours. One of the major focuses and priorities of the use of this vehicle is to respond to vehicles stopped or disabled in the Interstate I-285 tunnel which is classified as Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport's 5th runway.
With the purchase of this traffic response vehicle, calls for service for major accidents, stranded motorists, and roadway obstructions, can be handled by one officer within our jurisdiction.
