Promoting Efficiency in Government

The Joliet Police Department and Will County have agreed to split the total allocation equally between both agencies. Each has developed programs that address distinct issues confronting their jurisdiction. The Joliet Police Department is seeking funds to expand the ability of the Evidence Unit to collect evidence more efficiently and effectively at crime scenes. Specifically, an advanced camera capable of easily identifying several types of fluids. In addition, the quick capture of quality fingerprints for electronic comparison will significantly reduce the amount of time spent by fingerprint technicians. Will County has identified problem-solving court participants' housing and transportation needs as their most urgent needs. They are seeking funding to provide emergency housing and bus passes to enable participants to focus on their recovery process more effectively. Combined, both projects will support efficiency in governmental services.
