2023 JAG Public Safety Project

Sedgwick County will partner with the City of Wichita to use JAG funds for projects that support various City and County departments. Specifically, the County will use funds to purchase equipment for the Regional Forensic Science Center; install a camera system at the Courthouse Parking garage and Property and Evidence building; purchase supplies for Sheriff’s Office employees; replace phones and software in the District Attorney’s office; outfit officers at the juvenile facility with body cameras; and update the Department of Corrections’ information management system. The City of Wichita will be using funds for travel and training, along with equipment purchases to include: Bomb detection unit, helmets and night vision sets, a parabolic microphone, AFU station, and Records Workstation.
