Lexington Division of Police Updated Equipment and Training Project

The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Lexington Police is responsible for combating criminal activity and keeping the community safe in Lexington, Fayette County. The city of Lexington will use JAG funds to purchase equipment for the Lexington Police Department to improve public safety. Goal: Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the criminal justice system, processes and procedures. Objective: To Reduce and Prevent Violent Crime by procuring equipment for the LFUCG Division of Police related to the functions of law enforcement and Public Safety. Strategies to be Used: Focus resources toward purchase of equipment that will improve law enforcement’s response to crime and crisis situations, officer selection and training to improve public safety.
