JPSO's IT Division will purchase replacement VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) equipment, which has reached the manufacturer's end of life and is over 10 years old. This equipment is no longer supported by the manufacturer and can not be repaired. Priority was given to this project, as the subject equipment provides critical phone services to all JPSO facilities.
The 24th Judicial District Attorney Attorney's Office in Jefferson Parish is responsible for prosecutorial services in Jefferson Parish, and is requesting memory capacity upgrades for 75 of their computers. These upgrades will allow their systems to function more efficiently and preventing crashes currently caused by the current memory being used at capacity.
The City of Gretna, which is located in Jefferson Parish, oversees the Gretna Police Department, which is responsible for policing in the Gretna municipal area. GPD is requesting new laptops for NCIC training, online classes and online testing. The current laptops no longer support the software needs of the department.
The Parish Courts are of limited jurisdiction handling civil claims up to $20,000, misdemeanors, traffic violations, and violations of Jefferson Parish ordinances. The Courts are requesting replacement printers in the courtroom at both the First and Second Parish Courts. The printers are used daily, and the lifetime of these machines has been surpassed.
The JPCJA is responsible for managing the criminal justice programs for adults and juveniles in Jefferson Parish. It offers a coordination of services aimed at reducing crime in the parish. JPCJA is requesting funding to replace the Power Control Module at the correctional center which integrates all cameras, door locks and intercom systems throughout the facility.
