The City of Leominster Community Policing Program.

The City of Leominster will use funds for overtime related to community policing.  The police department has hired an outreach coordinator to work with the police and area organization that are experiencing housing difficulties due to multi-system challenges.  We have also contracted with a mental health clinician to specifically address mental health issues for individuals that consistently cause challenges for the community and the public safety personnel.  As police come into contact with each individual, the officer connects with our coordinator and/or clinician to start intervention methods with the person.  The overtime for the police department goes hand in hand with our two civilians in getting people the help that they need.
