2023 Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant

Goal included in the 2023 project are the utilization of essential equipment as we continue in our efforts to reduce criminal activity in notable high crime areas of the city, as well as vital training and skill-building conferences which would be attended by law enforcement personnel to develop and increase the ability to perform specified tasks within the department. 

Our department goals include: crime reduction as well as apprehension and prosecution of offenders. As proposed in this grant, in-car cameras will be used by patrol officers to enhance officer safety, reduce agency liability, simplify incident review, enhance training, enhance officer performance and professionalism, and strengthen police leadership.
