Lincoln/Lancaster Narcotics Task Force

The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) uses the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant to help fund 2.9 FTE attorney positions within the County Attorney’s office to help with prosecuting cases. The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) and Lancaster County Attorney’s office both possess a vast amount of data; however, the data has not been jointly explored to assess the efficacy of current drug policies and programs. Specifically, there has been little analysis to determine which sentencing/treatment programs are working best to prevent future offenses. Evaluation will show what changes can be made to achieve better results in reducing drugs and crime.
