Elizabeth, Linden & Plainfield, NJ Criminal Justice Grant Program

The goal of the FY23 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant is to increase crime prevention, intervention, response and assistance in municipalities with large populations and significant reports of crime. In order to reach this goal, local law enforcement will increase police patrols of areas with known criminal activity as well as increase law enforcement resources as well as access to equipment, to improve safety, response and assistance. The programs will be coordinated with the City of Elizabeth as the Primary Recipient/Fiscal Agent of grant funds to help law enforcement reduce/prevent crime as well as help minimize duplication of services. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be entered into with all participating municipalities outlining the programs and/or projects anticipated to be funded through this grant opportunity.
