Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $745,311)

The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) serves the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County in New Mexico. APD proposes to use the BJA FY 2023 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program grant funds to equip APD personnel with equipment and supplies necessary to successfully serve the citizens of the City of Albuquerque and its surrounding areas.

The project deliverables include the procurement of the budgeted items listed in the budget detail worksheet.  The City will follow all federal procurement guidelines stated in 45 CFR 75.327. APD will use the City of Albuquerque's documented procurement procedures, which conform to applicable Federal law, and the standards identified in this regulation. To foster greater economy and efficiency, APD will utilize a procurement methodology that promotes cost effective use of grant funds. According to 45 CFR 75.320, property is being classified as equipment as the per unit acquisition cost is more than $5,000.
