Drug abuse prevention and early intervention through community outreach to grade school and middle school students.

The FY 23 local JAG award will be used for the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and Carson City Juvenile Services for community prevention and diversion programming. These funds will be directly spent on prevention education, outreach/awareness programs, substance abuse prevention, violence (including gun and gang prevention), theft and bullying. Carson City Sheriff’s Office and Carson City Juvenile Services uses a combination of nationally recognized and local initiatives to build and maintain positive relations between law enforcement and the community of all ages. This has resulted in strong partnerships and tremendous community collaboration.
