City of North Las Vegas FY23 JAG

The City of North Las Vegas (CNLV) will utilize the FY 23 local JAG award to support two projects. The first project is the North Las Vegas Police Department’s Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) program. CNLV will pay part of the ViPS Coordinator’s salary. The VIPS Citizen’s Patrol Program consists of civilian volunteers trained to support police functions of the North Las Vegas Police Department. The primary objective of the ViPS Citizen’s Patrol Program is to prevent crime by mere presence and to identify public hazards. The second project is to increase security at the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center. CNLV will purchase a weapons locker, a utility task vehicle, restraints for inmates, and equipment for its SERT team.
