Case Enhancement/Crime Strategies - Crime Analyst

The County of Dutchess will utilize the requested Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program funds to supplement the Discovery, Crime Strategy, Case Enhancement (DSE) Bureau Crime Analyst position. The Crime Analyst reviews, analyzes, and evaluates all digital evidence and social media data sources connected with criminal cases and investigations. The case enhancement piece has two primary components the first being the mining of the electronic and social media for evidentiary value in developing criminal cases. The crime strategies component is aimed at mining data to concentrate on identifying the Chronic 6 percent who drive crime in the community.
