Juvenile and Adult Supervision and Community Safety Programs

The City of Utica Police Department and the Oneida County Probation Department are proposing the sharing of $33,570 as appropriated under the FY 2023 Justice Assistance Grant. This highly successful partnership is committed to improving the quality of life throughout the City of Utica for local residents using evidence-based approaches. A portion of JAG funds will be used to increase supervision of offenders sentenced to electronic monitoring as alternatives to incarceration and increase patrols aimed at reducing violent crime in high crime areas. Remaining funds will go towards new technology for use during interviews and associated training.
