CITY OF PONCA CITY FY-23 JAG EQUIPMENT GRANT

The disparate jurisdictions of the Ponca City Police Department and Kay County Sheriff's Office, both of Kay County, Oklahoma, will use their FY 2023 JAG funds to support equipment enhancements. The goal of this project is to aid the departments in the service to our communities through quality law enforcement efforts and to accomplish these efforts in a safe manner through adequate officer safety tactics.

The Ponca City Police Department intends to purchase fifty-five (55) Black "Zak Tool" entry tools, fifty-five (55) "Res Q ME" seat belt cutter/window punch tools, one (1) Blackhawk Special Ops Entry Ram, and four (4) XPR 3500e Motorola VHF Portable radios w/remote speaker mic. This will allow for officer and community safety during emergencies. All of the above purchases have not been fundable through our normal budgeting process.

The Kay County Sheriff's Department intends to purchase two (2) Motorola XPR 7350e Digital/Analog VHF Radios. Both of these projects will increase officer safety and help with effective, efficient delivery of service to the communities by both agencies.
