Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $16,492)

The Borough of Wilkinsburg is seeking funds to continue its project of adding quad cameras for the use of crime surveillance at intersections identified as neighborhood hot spots.  The cameras are called IP video surveillance.  An IP video surveillance system doesn’t need anything more than a cellular or Wi-Fi network and power (some don’t even need that, with built-in batteries and/or solar cells).

The cameras are law enforcement-grade surveillance cameras designed for police investigations.  The small-window technology combines maximum discretion, optical clarity and low-light performance without compromising pan, tilt or zoom range, and without the need for lens concealment materials.
