FY23 JAG Funding

The Norristown Police Department (NPD) will utilize 2023 JAG funds for License Plate Reader technology. License Plate Readers, or LPRs, is the next key component to NPD leading crime strategy approach. This solution will provide advance capabilities to NPD that will both aid in solving crimes and increase the level and degree of traffic enforcement and compliance in the borough.

Pottstown Police Department is seeking approval to utilize the 2023 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) funding allocated to Pottstown to offset the costs of much-needed server upgrades. Upgrading our servers will allow reporting to be conducted in a more efficient and timely manner. It is our goal to increase the clearance rate by improving efficiency. The remaining funds will be utilized for overtime details to address quality of life issues.
