FY23 JAG Funding

The Norristown Police Department will utilize 2023 JAG funds for overtime to deploy high intensity reduction patrols in hot spot areas. The JAG funds will also be utilized for overtime to conduct fear reduction canvasses and juvenile curfew patrols to proactively combat problems occurring throughout the community. The funds will also be used for overtime to support neighborhood outreach programs to work with citizens to solve or abate situations that often result in neighborhood degradation and crime. Pottstown Police Department is seeking approval to utilize the 2023 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) funding allocated to Pottstown to offset the costs of much-needed server upgrades. Upgrading our servers will allow reporting to be conducted in a more efficient and timely manner. It is our goal to increase the clearance rate by improving efficiency. The remaining funds will be utilized for overtime details to address quality of life issues.
