Lehigh County Regional Intelligence and Investigation Center (RIIC)

The City of Allentown Police Department proposes utilizing funds from the 2023 Department of Justice Edward Byrne Memorial JAG grant in a disparate proportion with the County of Lehigh.  The City of Allentown will use the funds to purchase a state-of-the-art digital warning device that informs both pedestrians, vehicular traffic, and residents of a dangerous or community event notification situation. The County of Lehigh plans to use these funds to purchase laptops and I-Pad devices for crime analysts to utilize during research and reporting. Small glass whiteboards that are easily erasable will be purchased for analyst cubicles and offices to facilitate diagraming and case work. Larger wall boards and portable wheeled boards will be use in conference rooms and breakout rooms for software design, casework and training.
