FY 23 Local JAG- Police Radio Upgrades for State System Compliance

The City of Spartanburg Police Department will replace mobile fleet radios (in-car). The South Carolina Palmetto 800 Advisory Committee put out a notice in April 2021 that there will be a statewide migration to P25 Phase II TDMA communications systems no later than July 1, 2027. It is necessary for the Spartanburg Police Department to replace 84 of 247 agency owned radios by the imposed deadline of July 1, 2027. Funds from the 2023 allocation will assist in purchasing the first installment of the required radios. Radio communications equipment helps safety and efficiency for police personnel and citizens.
