City of Columbia CVI Prevention and Education Project

To address the recent wave of violent crime, the City of Columbia will use JAG funds to strategically implement Community-Based Violence (CVI) Intervention initiatives by facilitating programs and coordinating services that align with the JAG Prevention and Education program area. This project will focus on enhancing Crime and Violence Reduction Strategies as well as Community Based Violence Intervention (CVI) Approaches as areas of emphasis. Using this allocation, the City of Columbia aims to reduce violent crime in areas identified as perennial violence hotspots over the 48 month performance period by enhancing existing efforts and implementing sustained prevention and education initiatives.
