Harlingen FY 2023 JAG Project to expand taser program.

The City of Harlingen Police Department will utilize the FY 23 local JAG award to revamp the department's taser program by purchasing Tasers and the respective cartridges, holsters, and batteries. The acquisition of Tasers signals the start of a project aimed at replacing current tasers that have met their end of life and are obsolete. Tasers will bolster de-escalation initiatives by resolving incidents and apprehending suspects to reduce the use of force and avoid injury or death.
