FY23 Suffolk Police Department Equipment, Technology, and Community Outreach Projects

The Suffolk Police Department will use JAG funds to enhance technology with the purchase of forensic software for the Detective Bureau to recover digital evidence; cell phone software for the Crisis Negotiation Team; radio accessories for the Special Investigations Unit for use during covert operations; new laptops to replace outdated units; additional rifle lights to completely outfit our patrol units; and rifle conversion kits to outfit our SWAT unit with nonlethal training ammunition; and, nonlethal training ammunition pistols.

To send the Community Outreach Coordinator to training to learn ways to effectively communicate with citizens in an effort to reduce crime.
