The City of Parkersburg (Parkersburg Police Department) was allocated $27,632. The Wood County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) was allocated $16,304 for FY 2023.

The City of Parkersburg and Wood County have been certified as disparate jurisdictions in the State of West Virginia by the Bureau of Justice Assistance. As such, the City and County are submitting a joint application for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program – FY 2023 in the amount of $43,936.
Parkersburg, WV and Wood County, WV have been identified by BJA a disparate jurisdiction. As such, the City or Parkersburg will act as the fiscal agent and submit a joint application for the aggregate eligible allocation to all disparate municipalities. The joint application shall determine and specify the award distribution to each unit of local government and the purposes for which the funds will be used.
The City of Parkersburg (Parkersburg Police Department) was allocated $27,632. Wood County (Wood County Sheriff’s Office) was allocated $16,304 for FY 2023. If these funds are awarded, the City of Parkersburg will administer the grant at no charge, for both units of local governments. The funds will be used to purchase needed equipment for the Parkersburg Police Department and the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
