Bergen County Sheriff's Office_FY23 Kevin and Avonte Program_Angel Sense

The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) prides itself in the immense care it takes to provide safety and security of nearly 1 million area residents within Bergen County, New Jersey. With that goal in mind, BCSO is applying to the Kevin and Avonte Program under Category #2 to request federal funds for equipment technology assistance to an already existing program. BCSO has a partnership with technology vendor, Angel Sense, known for its high-quality and cost-effective locative devices. These devices are critical when operating across uneven landscapes, hilly areas, or mountainous terrain—all of which are common features to BCSO’s jurisdiction and its proposed project area. With funds, the BCSO can provide 100 Angel Sense devices and subscriptions to residents in the county with family members living with Dementia, Alzheimer's, and/or Autism, who are prone to wandering.
