Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $999,524)

This WORKS Inc., in partnership with Dougherty County School System (DCSS), will implement the project in Dougherty County School System (STOP DCSS). It will provide include schoolwide training and coaching in Restorative Practices (RP) and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), which are both evidence-based programs for improving school climate. Select school personnel will receive advanced training to be trainers in RP and MHFA. In addition to the training and coaching, STOP DCSS offers opportunities for mental health counseling from project partner Fortified Hope. STOP DCSS also provides students with antiviolence education through promotional campaigns, service-learning projects, and participating in restorative circles, conferencing, and peer mediation.
