The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District is in Interior Alaska and operates 33 schools that serve 12,631 students and employ 1,700 full-time employees. Secondary school teachers, principals, other school-based personnel, and students will receive evidence-based threat assessment training to recognize, respond quickly to, and help prevent acts of violence. Training will involve a virtual orientation, eLearning courses, and coaching throughout implementation. It will also hire three school safety assistants to support the prevention of school violence at Lathrop, North Pole, and West Valley High Schools.
