CGA, Inc. is requesting $750,000 in Second Chance Act funding over three years to expand the current Pinal County Community Reentry Project to provide Peer Recovery Support Services. The primary activities for the project include individual assessment and case management followed by support and referral to services. Individuals who are interested in becoming Peer Recovery Support Specialists will receive training with the potential for contract with the organization to assist in providing support services. Expected outcomes include a reduction in recidivism, increased community support for individuals during the reentry process, especially for individuals with substance use disorder and/or alcohol use disorder, and reduction in stigma related to ex-offenders. Services will be conducted in the city of Casa Grande Arizona with potential expansion to additional communities in Pinal County Arizona. Intended beneficiaries for the Project are 300 inmates preparing for release and during reentry from state prisons operated by the Arizona Department of Corrections and inmates of the Pinal County Jail.
