The Stockbridge Police Department proposes to implement the SPD-Violent Crime Prevention Project in the City of Stockbridge. The violent crime reduction (VCR) project is multidimensional. The SPD VCR team of officers will consist of detectives, crime scene investigators, and a forthcoming newly formed Crime Suppression Unit. In alignment with the Violent Crime Reduction Guide, the critical elements supporting the SPD VCR project are leadership, analytics and technology, partnerships, community engagement, technology, tactics, and accountability. The goal of the project is to combat violent crime in the City of Stockbridge using an enhanced implementation of critical elements. The objectives of the project are to: (1) keep the Stockbridge community safe with analytics and intelligence, (2) establish partnerships and create a task force, and (3) enhance the quality of enforcement and investigations by using innovative technology. The projected outcomes are a reduction of gun violence and violent crime incidents in the City of Stockbridge and surrounding areas, continued communication and partnerships with law enforcement partners, the purchase of surveillance cameras for the creation of a Stockbridge Police Video Integration Center that enhances identification of suspects, and successful prosecutions and investigations of violent crime cases.
