The purpose and objectives for projects proposed in this application are to: enhance the PMP; facilitate and improve the exchange of information; provide and develop training for system users; produce and disseminate educational materials; support collaboration among public health officials and treatment providers; facilitate interstate data sharing; and integrate with electronic health record systems (EHR) and pharmacy dispensing software.
Primary activities proposed by the PMP include integrating with new EHRs and healthcare facilities as well as enhancing current connections, enhancing the PMP technical framework, training end users of the PMP system, and developing education through academic detailing for high-risk prescribers.
