The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) proposes to implement the Wisconsin Enhanced Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (WI ePDMP) Interagency Data Integration and Reporting Enhancement Program. The purpose is to enhance the overall data quality of Wisconsin Enhanced Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (ePDMP). Project activities include establishing Data Use Agreement to enable interagency data integration, creating a streamlined workflow for law enforcement overdose reporting in the ePDMP via Badger TraCS data integration, improving existing automated reports, enhancing analytics and interactivity for the pubic-facing statistics dashboard, and implementing the current ASAP 5.0 version for dispensing data submission. Expected outcomes include increased law enforcement overdose data reporting, improved granularity, and increased accuracy of monitored drug prescribing data by profession, specialty and regulatory body, reduced time to respond to requests for data, and increased amount of actionable data on the patient prescription history report. The service area is state-wide. The primary beneficiary of the project is the DSPS as the project supports the agency’s goal of ensuring the safe and competent practice of licensed professionals in Wisconsin as healthcare end users increase their ePDMP usage to inform their clinical decisions. Other intended beneficiaries include ePDMP users and the general public in the state.
