Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $1,009,000)
The Monroe County Office of the District Attorney requests $1,009,000 for the Monroe County Safety-First Network (MCSFN). The network will be a new justice information-sharing and vital communication upgrade to bring all-in-one interoperability throughout the county. This includes Phase I of an advanced P25 open architecture trunked radio system and purchasing ten portable radios, two bases, and three mobile radios, transitioning the County’s communications systems from analog to digital. The project activities include the expansion of the current P25 Phase 1 Simulcast Channel to a county-wide P25 Phase 1 simulcast channel, the installation of 2 “hops” of microwave, the P25 Phase 1 simulcast channel replacement for PD South and PD Regional, and Locust Ridge site improvements for network stability. This shift will improve the emergency network, enabling quicker and more efficient responses and investigations of criminal activity and emergencies, serving our citizens better. This network will improve the quality of life for residents, provide safer communities, faster emergency response times, and enhance public safety.
