Drug and Fentanyl Taskforce

The Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation is a federally recognized tribe located in Yakima and Klickitat counties in Washington State. With this funding, the Yakama Nation Public Safety Department will: Increase Law Enforcement Capacity. The Yakama Nation Police Department plans to protect all persons within the boundaries of the reservation by addressing active gang and cartel-related drug activity and violent crime on the reservation. To accomplish this the Yakama Nation Police Department will dedicate up to four officers to the local county/Federal Drug Task Forces and purchase necessary equipment to assist YNPD. Dedication of these officers, detention/correction space, and purchase of equipment/supplies will provide essential patrol, correction, and investigative resources at this critical juncture for the future safety of our communities.
