This funding will be utilized to enhance our public safety capabilities through the following initiatives. Police Cruisers: Purchase new police cruisers to replace aging vehicles, thereby improving our ability to respond to calls for service and conduct proactive violent crime reduction efforts. NIBIN Program Equipment: Acquire National Integrated Ballistics Information Network (NIBIN) equipment to analyze ballistic evidence from aggravated assaults and other weapon-related crimes, providing timely and actionable investigative leads. Surveillance Cameras and License Plate Readers: Deploy these technologies in "hotspot" areas, particularly along the Old National Hwy corridor, to monitor and reduce violent crime.
