The Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force proposes to implement the Public Safety Equipment for Local Law Enforcement Program. This program’s purpose is to enhance the local initiative of strengthening the Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force’s law enforcement program in Talladega County.  Additionally, the program will allow an increase performance of the TCDVCTF utilizing the expansion of public safety equipment. The project's activities include purchasing much needed law enforcement vehicles as well as other essential investigative equipment. Some of the equipment will include lights, sirens, radios, organizational items, night vision, personal protection gear, drug test kits, electronics, etc. Another great need is the structural repair of the drug enforcement equipment and evidence room located at the Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force. The costs associated with this repair are materials (wood, fasteners, stabilizers, etc.) and labor. Expected outcomes from this project is an increase in law enforcement services and response, police efficiency, as well as an increase of drug and violent crime prevention in Talladega County.
