The City of Dublin, Dublin Police Services, and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office are seeking Community Project Funding to support the hiring of an additional clinician(therapist) for the Dublin Police Services Behavioral Health Unit. The Behavioral Health Unit is a division of Dublin Police Services and is staffed by licensed therapists dedicated to working with youth, children, adults, couples, and families on immediate mental health related issues. The Behavioral Health Unit works directly with Dublin Police Officers by assisting them with incidents involving individuals in mental health crisis, supporting victims of major crimes, and working with residents who need additional support like those with disabilities, mental illness, or who are experiencing houselessness. The Unit also connects individuals with resources in the Community, like the Axis Bridge Mental Health Urgent Care Center and other community-based organizations.
