Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $38,000)

The proposed project is to purchase a MILO Virtual Simulator.  The MILO Simulator provides hundreds of complex dynamic video training scenarios, graphics-based skill-builder drills, and tactical training features.  Instead of relying solely on non-interactive and web-based training, the MILO Simulator provides real-life virtual training scenarios.  It is an invaluable tool used to improve officers’ decision-making, de-escalation techniques, and tactical judgments. The scenarios cover a wide range of calls officers respond to.  They include everything from common, everyday events, to working with persons in mental health crisis, to domestic violence incidents, and to critical incidents.  The use of the MILO Simulator will not only be for the Hampton Falls Police Department but be offered to all other New Hampshire law enforcement agencies in the area.  The goal is to create better prepared New Hampshire law enforcement officers in order to improve the quality of service to New Hampshire's citizens and visitors.
