Freeport Police Technology and Equipment

The Village of Freeport seeks $330,000 for the purchase of twenty-six (26) Panasonic Toughbook computers including mounts, scanners, printers and cradle points to be used in patrol vehicles, Twenty-seven (27) Avon Taser 7s including taser, holsters, cartridges, docking stations and training aids, and twenty (20) Carbine rifles with 11" barrels and suppression.  It is the Village's intention to provide its law enforcement officers with updated technology to improve its ability to enforce the laws of the Village and State safely and effectively. The Police Department's primary service area is the Village of Freeport, on the south shore of Long Island, New York.  All residents, business owners and visitors to the Village will benefit from this project.
