Rio Arriba County Sheriff's Office Equipment

The Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s Office will utilize this funding to support the sheriff’s office equipment acquisition initiative. The purpose is to reduce crime rates, increase criminal prosecution, enhance public safety, and foster community trust in the Rio Arriba County community. Project activities include the acquisition and deployment of new patrol units and license plate readers (LPRs), support strategic law enforcement operations, and conduct comprehensive data collection and analysis. Expected outcomes include reduction in emergency response times, increase in criminal prosecution, decrease in crime rates in targeted areas, increase in patrol coverage in high-crime areas (which will be identified by computer aided dispatch data), and improvement in community trust in the Sheriff’s Office.
